Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of high-quality bone broth (chicken or beef)
- ½ cup of milk (regular or dairy-free alternative)
- 2 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
- 1–2 tablespoons of maple syrup or honey
- 1 scoop of collagen powder (optional for extra protein)
- A pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract for added flavor
- Whipped cream or marshmallows for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the liquids – In a small saucepan, pour the bone broth and milk. Warm over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it starts to steam but does not boil.
- Mix in the cacao and sweetener – Add the raw cacao powder and maple syrup (or honey).
- Whisk continuously to prevent clumps and ensure a smooth texture.
- Blend for extra frothiness (optional) – For a creamy and airy texture, use an immersion blender or transfer the mixture to a regular blender. Blend for a few seconds until frothy.
Pour and serve – Carefully pour the bone broth hot chocolate into a mug. If desired, top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Notes
- Use low-sodium bone broth for better flavor balance.
- Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less honey or maple syrup.
- For an extra-rich texture, opt for full-fat coconut milk.
- Enhance the flavor with a dash of peppermint extract for a festive twist!
